Energy

Energy
Daily writing prompt
Which aspects do you think makes a person unique?

There’s a ton of ways that we are unique. From our DNA to our fingerprints, the science can tell us exactly why we are completely unlike any other being before or after us.

In my opinion though, it’s not our DNA, or our hobbies, or physical features that make us unique – it’s our energy.

Energy in and of itself is multi-faceted. It’s impacted by how we treat our bodies spiritually, physically, and emotionally. Our energy is born out of the prayers we say, the food we eat, and the situations we expose ourselves to.

There are plenty of good looking people out there, but if one of those people spends all his/her time gossiping, eating crazy amounts of sugar, and separates him/herself from God ; all that attractiveness goes out the window, because that energy is not the vibe.

One of the aspects of eating and living a cleaner lifestyle is that my own energy, and others, is more tangible. I’m no longer stuck in the rut of just going with everyone else’s flow. I’m no longer sucked into situations just to feel like I belong. I spend a lot of time being alone because of it, but I also feel less drained because other people’s negativity is no longer compounded on top of my own feelings.

I’ve dealt with depression, anxiety, and low-self esteem throughout my life. It wasn’t until I started cutting out all the white noise that I found that many of those negative feelings and issues were simply rooted in my energy being out of balance.

Is every day good? Far from it. I work in a profession that drains me of my lifeforce constantly, but I replenish it quickly and consistently by taking care of myself in every aspect that I can.

When I am stuck in a long line – I pray for all the people in it with me.

When traffic is bad – I pray that every person has a safe commute home.

When I start craving junk food – I make a healthy snack and remember why I have to eat clean and how close I am to reaching milestones in my health journey.

When I start missing someone – I remind myself of the promises God has made to me and that if someone is meant to be in my life, ain’t nothing going to stop it.

When you pivot – your energy shifts.

My life is nothing like I planned and continues to take me by surprise every day.

I teach middle school – nothing is going to go as planned. That’s just a fact. But I can choose how I respond.

Your energy is tangible and people pick up on it. Just remember – you are the only person in control of you, so let that energy be something that people want to emulate, rather than something they cross the street to avoid.
