Fate (noun): an inevitable and often adverse outcome, condition, or end.
Destiny (noun): the future or path that is meant for someone; what is supposed to happen.
I personally feel like I favor the word destiny over fate, because fate has an inherently negative undertone. Like all of our fates are to die one day. Destiny on the other hand implies greatness and purpose.
I would say that yes, I do believe in destiny.
There are things we are meant to accomplish while we are here. There are people we are meant to know and impact. There are jobs to be done, words to be said, and doors to hold open. We will leave innumerable footprints on this planet, but ultimately we have free will, so we decide whether or not those footprints will be remembered fondly or scornfully.
I believe our purpose is tied directly to our destiny.
I believe in soulmates and that your person is part of that destiny.
I believe that God writes our destiny on our hearts and if we listen carefully, we can find it.
I believe that the journey of finding one’s destiny is not linear and never truly ends, until you meet your ultimate fate that is.
I believe that our destiny is not the destination, but the culmination of all the stories we write along the way.
