After all is said and done, I hope that people will say I always spoke the truth.
Truth looks different for everyone, but there are some things in this world that have pure, unshakeable truth.
I, of course, believe our ultimate truth comes from God. I hope though that people will understand that when I share my experience of God’s truth, it is not to make them feel bad or coerce them in any way.
It is simply sharing my testimony, which yes, I hope will lead people to find God in their own way.
There have been many times in my life where I was scared to speak the truth; where I feared repercussions for standing up for what is right.
Then, and by no means by my strength alone, I started to lose that fear.
I started to stand up for myself, even when it was uncomfortable, even when it meant I would lose everything, even when I felt weak and my whole body shook.
The truth is that life really isn’t all that complicated – we make it that way worrying, comparing, judging, hurting, hoarding, and lying.
The truth, actual truth, really isn’t subjective, it’s absolute, and it’s given to us by someone who simply knows better.
I hope that people will remember me for holding to that truth, and working for people with purpose, rooted in that truth.
